There is limited information about this period of activation.

This was a rather unique period in the history of the Battalion. Only A Company was active and it was not assigned to the 5th Division (also inactive), the only time that this has occurred. As of  May 2004, the only information available for the period are the dates and locations of inactivation: the Battalion less A Co was inacticated at Ft. Jackson on 21 Oct 21, and A Company was inactivated at Ft. Benning on 1 Oct 33.

Serendipity! While running a search an the web, Google found an interview of LG Walter K.Wilson , Jr. While an LT., he was both a platoon leader and later commander of Company A, 7th Engineer Regiment, Ft. Benning, GA from 1930 to 1932. The Company was actually more of a platoon with about 35 men assigned. They supported the Infantry School as an "Engineer Demonstraton Unit". The full interview runs about 350 pages and is posted on the web at:

TO & E

Note below that the now standard military date format (day, month, year) was not yet in use but the "civilian" format of  month, day, year is used

TO&E information on this page extracted from material provided by "The Engineer History Office", Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. My thanks to Larry D. Roberts, PhD, Historian.

The following TO&E is not necessarily that under which A Co was organized but is that of an Engineer Regimental Company. The TO&E is titled:
